The CASC working group has submitted its report regarding the keeping of primates as pets. The working group consisted of CASC members and other participants, and also received evidence from organisations with relevant expertise. The group was unanimous in its condemnation of the keeping of single primates in the home environment, a practice illegal under the Animal Welfare Act, and has put forward recommendations for consideration by government.
